The recording
Recorded at Hyde Street Studios in San Francisco with producer Rob Cavallo for the 1995 album 'Insomniac'. Billie Joe Armstrong played his signature Fernandes 'Blue' guitar, utilizing his heavily modified 'Pete' and 'Meat' Marshall Plexi amps, which featured high-gain modifications (Bradshaw/SE Lead) and were processed with precise studio noise gating to achieve the iconic, stop-start percussive riff sound.
