The recording
Recorded in 1994 at Fantasy Studios in Berkeley, CA, for the album 'Dookie', produced by Rob Cavallo. The recording sessions were defined by the use of Billie Joe Armstrong's modified Marshall Plexi (known as 'Pete') and his Fernandes 'Blue' Stratocaster. The production focused on a raw, punchy sound, capturing the band's energy with minimal studio processing and no excessive use of pedals, relying instead on the natural interplay between the hot-rodded amplifier and the bridge humbucker.
