The recording
Recorded during the American Idiot sessions (2004), produced by Rob Cavallo. The album sessions relied heavily on Billie Joe Armstrong's signature 'Dookie' modded Marshall 'Plexi' amps. For the tremolo-heavy intro of 'Boulevard of Broken Dreams', a Boss TR-2 is utilized to achieve the signature staccato syncopation against the gritty, cranked Marshall backdrop.
