The recording
Recorded in October 1976 at Wessex Sound Studios in London. The recording was produced by Chris Thomas and engineered by Bill Price. Steve Jones tracked the primary rhythm guitars, frequently double-tracking parts to create a massive 'mono deluxe' wall of sound. Despite the punk aesthetic, the recording utilized high-end 70s studio techniques and meticulous layering, with Jones playing his Les Paul through a cranked Twin Reverb that had been acquired by the band.
