The recording
Recorded at Wessex Studios in London, November 1979, during the final stages of the London Calling sessions. The song was a last-minute addition written by Mick Jones overnight about his breakup with Viv Albertine. Production was handled by Guy Stevens, who utilized his 'direct psychic injection' method, encouraging emotional performances by throwing studio equipment. The track was recorded just as the band's equipment was being cleared out of the studio.
