The recording
The classic studio take of 'Red House' on the UK 'Are You Experienced' album was recorded at CBS Studios in London on December 13, 1966. It was captured quickly in the final 15 minutes of the session, with Chas Chandler producing. Jimi played his Stratocaster, while Noel Redding played a borrowed hollow-body guitar to track the bass line. The recording captures a raw, live-in-studio feel that became one of Hendrix's most blues performances.
