The recording
The tracking for Texas Flood occurred in November 1982 at Jackson Browne's DownTown Studios in Los Angeles. The album was produced by Richard Mullen along with the band. The sessions were remarkably sparse, with the trio setting up in a circle in an open warehouse space to capture the energy of a live gig rather than using isolating booths. Most of the tracks were completed in single takes with minimal overdubbing or studio processing.
