The recording
The tracking for 'Kashmir' began during sessions at Headley Grange in 1973, where Jimmy Page and John Bonham jammed on the riff. Page recorded the core guitar track using his Danelectro 3021. The 'wall of sound' was later expanded at Olympic Studios, London, with John Paul Jones adding Mellotron and orchestral arrangements to complement Page's heavily overdubbed guitar parts.
