The recording
Recorded at Transporterraum, New York City, in the spring of 2001 under producer Gordon Raphael. The band played live together in the studio to capture a raw, volatile energy. The guitars were tracked through two separate Fender Hot Rod Deville amplifiers, each miked with a single Sennheiser MD 421 placed into API preamps with no EQ applied to the signal to maintain the direct, punchy, and uncompressed sound character.
