The recording
Recorded at Transporterraum in New York City, the guitar tracks for 'Someday' were captured with a straightforward, live-feeling approach. Both Albert Hammond Jr. and Nick Valensi relied on their Fender Hot Rod DeVille amplifiers, which were miked individually and fed directly into a preamp. The production aesthetic, overseen by producer Gordon Raphael, intentionally avoided outboard EQ and artificial reverb, favoring the natural, raw interaction between the instruments and the room to achieve the record's signature dry, biting character.
