The recording
Recorded at Battery Studios, London, with producer Martin Birch. The guitar sound on 'The Number of the Beast' is defined by the doubled rhythm parts of Dave Murray and Adrian Smith. The production captured the raw, organic power of their Marshall JMP rigs, avoiding the heavily processed rack-mount tones that would characterize later albums like 'Somewhere in Time'.
