The recording
Recorded at Sweet Silence Studios in Copenhagen, Denmark, between February and March 1984. Produced by Flemming Rasmussen and Metallica. The band was under significant pressure following the theft of their gear in Boston, leading them to rent available Marshall amplifiers in Denmark, which defined the raw, punchy sound of the Ride the Lightning album.
