The recording

Recorded for Slipknot's 2008 album All Hope Is Gone, Psychosocial was produced by Dave Fortman with engineers Matt Hyde and Jeremy Parker and mixed by Colin Richardson. Jim Root’s rhythm guitars were tracked in a tight, down‑tuned Drop B setting, layered multiple times and processed through noise‑gate and boost before being fed into an Orange tube amp, resulting in the razor‑sharp, high‑gain tone that defines the track.
