Recorded at Rokstone Studios (London) with producer Steve Mac and collaborator Johnny McDaid. The track is built from multitracked layers rather than a single live loop. Sheeran recorded percussion by slapping the body of his acoustic guitar and layering it with other elements, keeping the instrumentation intentionally thin and clean to maintain space for the vocal melody.
